1907
Constitution of the Barcelona Swimming Club
The Club Natació Barcelona was established, with its registered office at Gimnàs Solé, on Carrer de Montjuïc del Carme.
1907
Oriental baths
The first sports headquarters of the CNB was in the Oriental Baths, a public establishment located in Barceloneta. This space was given to the 20 founding members of the Club in exchange for a fee of two pesetas. Little by little the number of members grew, and the need to change premises was considered.
1910
Baths of San SebastiÃ
The Club hires another public establishment, the "Banys de Sant Sebastià ", the use of a room with a larger capacity and a larger beach area. It is a wooden pavilion, mounted on iron bars on the beach, about three or four meters high, with an external staircase for access. From 1911 to 1913, the number of members grew, so it was necessary to expand the premises.
1914
The land of 66 meters is requested
The 66 meter long land between the boiler room of the New Vulcano and the sea is requested. There is no such thing as a beach and an iron ladder is planned to go down to the sea.
1915
Port of Barcelona grant
the possession of an area of land
The Board of Works of the Port of Barcelona grants possession of an area of land that includes a small construction. From this moment on we do not depend on leases and we are in full freedom of movement. The foundations were laid that were to turn the Club into one of the great initiatives of Catalan civil society.
1920
Approval of the Piscina de l'Escollera project
The General Meeting of Members approves the Escullera swimming pool project (initial budget of 250,000 pesetas).
1921
First stone of the Piscina de l'Escullera
The first stone of the pool is placed. Together with the construction of the swimming pool, the construction of the well was carried out, which allowed the removal of sea water filtered naturally by the sand. The pool was covered in 1923 and in 1924 the hot water installation was inaugurated. Engineer Manuel Folch from Erebus SA
1930
New concessions for the Club
New concessions are obtained that expand the Club's grounds.
1955
New pool on the beach
A new outdoor swimming pool is built on the beach, fed with sea water. At this moment it is necessary to provide a solution to the needs of other sports sections: athletics, sailing and ball. They are starting to think about knocking down and building the central body of the old facilities.

70's – New buildings
1965
Children's pool
A suitable place for summer courses for children learning to swim was missing.
Construction begins on three buildings that accommodate changing rooms, a new gym, secretarial offices and boardroom, living room, etc.
1980
80's – A new era
A rehabilitation project of the old Escullera building begins. A multi-sports court and a new building including: women's changing rooms, squash courts and a 36-metre pediment are built.
1990
90's – An Olympic club
At the Barcelona Olympics 92', the Club was the most Olympic in Spain, sending one of the largest representations (15 participants).
1997
A 21st Century Club
The proposal to reform the facilities was approved in an extraordinary meeting. The echo that all that transformation had in the media was very considerable. The expansion of the facilities made it possible, among other things, to have a 50-metre Olympic swimming pool.
2003
World Swimming Headquarters 2003
In 2001, the act of laying the first stone of the Piscina Nova de l'Escullera was held. This project was led by the architect and partner Joaquim Pujol. From 13 to 27 July 2003, the Club was proud to experience an exceptional event: it hosted the water polo competition of the X World Swimming Championships 2003.
2007
One hundred years of History
On November 10, 2007, the CNB celebrated its hundred years of history at the INEFC facilities. The commemorative dinner was attended by a large number of members and representatives of Barcelona's civil, cultural and sporting society. On June 26, 2007 and on the occasion of the centenary, the Barcelona Swimming Club received the Sant Jordi Cross in the Sant Jordi hall of the Palau de la Generalitat.
